Facebook = Facebook Page "Gabe Zander, musician, poet, force of nature... these are titles that fit him well but he will never admit to being any of the beforementioned "titles". But the one title he will proudly wear is that of "Punk Rock Redneck", a name that fits him all too well. Raised in the country hills of the Kittatiny Mountain Range in Northern New Jersey (yes there are hillbillies and country in NJ) by roots music loving parents he found out early that American music the likes of Johnny Cash, Flatt and Scruggs, Ralph Stanley and many others was an important part of what America has contributed to music. Spending his youth more enamored with Heavy Metal and later on ALL THINGS PUNK ROCK Gabe quickly found something missing from his parent's music... angst and rebellion! He picked up a guitar, a bass or sang... whatever he could do to keep the spirit of Punk Rock alive and he did a good job at it playing in such notable bands like The Oi! Scouts and Squiggy. Gabe's rebellion would come full circle after he discovered his love for the acoustic guitar, a love that led him on a pilgrimage to Nashville many years ago, where he would start to create his own brand of "Outlaw Country"! Blending the music of his younger years with the angst ridden punk rock of his teen years he has come up with the embodiment of modern outlaw music, never too punk for the country folk and never too country for the punk rockers. Gabe Zander's music will walk the fine like between pure country, rock n roll, blues and punk rock never committing to one genre or the other but you will hear elements of all in every song. In search of something new Gabe picked up an acoustic and started mixing his punk rock attitude and spirit with the Country sounds of his youth. Upon relocating to Nashville Gabe picked up even more inspiration to create this great material that can be enjoyed by anyone!
